About 50% of the total oil produced today is from waterflood. About 50% of the proved oil reserves in the world can be attributed to waterflood. If we can increase recovery factor from waterflood by a few percentage points, we can have significant volume of additional reserves.

More importantly, these volumes can be produced at a negligible cost as compared to cost of finding new oil or additional recovery by use of EOR. The learning event “Advanced Analysis of Waterflood Performance Using Microsoft Excel” will provide the participants with skills to analyze the performance of a waterflood and identify the means of improving its performance.

A number of Excel based problems and examples from real life waterflood projects will be used to illustrate the salient points.
